Dutch is my native language and I was introduced to Swedish and at a young age. I have both Swedish and Dutch nationality. I have been living in Sweden since the year 2000. I have always been interested in different cultures and languages. At secondary school I studied French, English, German, Ancient Greek and Latin, which has given me a good understanding of languages. I studied Law at the University of Utrecht and the French-speaking Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium. In my studies I specialised in International Law. In addition, I have followed several linguistic courses. After my studies, I worked as a lawyer for both governments and for private sector business enterprises in the Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden. The sectors I worked in were mainly the pharmaceutical and automotive sectors. I have also taught at universities and colleges in Sweden and in the Netherlands. Consequently, I have a very good knowledge of legal, business and medical terminology in the Scandinavian and Dutch languages, as well as understanding the cultures of these countries. In 2013 I decided to focus exclusively on translation work.
