The field I most enjoy translating in is the environmentally conscious Slow Living niche. This is an interdisciplinary area that embraces sustainability in many forms, such as energy-efficient and ecological building/renovation, natural materials, textile crafts, permaculture, and gardening. It is a somewhat cross-disciplinary niche that addresses sustainability in various ways. It may concern society, economics, science, law, and related fields at a general level. I hold a teaching degree in textiles and German and have worked in these professions, as well as running my own business in textile design. Since 2023 I have been transitioning into translation and hold a degree in specialized translation (German–Swedish) from Linnaeus University. I have also taken courses in Sustainable Building and Living, as well as in Ecolinguistics. Examples of previous assignments include translation and proofreading/language adaptation of literary works on passive houses, website texts for information and marketing related to cultivation and hemp-based textile production, as well as various types of certificates. My strengths are my curiosity and strong interest in sustainability and ecology, as well as my enjoyment of in-depth research. I work with CAT tools (Wordscope, Smartcat) to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and consistency, and I am open to learning additional tools as needed.
