Presentation:

I am a native Swede working as a full-time freelance translator since 2007. I provide accurate and well-researched translations, making sure to always meet agreed deadlines and provide quick answers to availability requests. The great majority of the projects that I work on are related to the following three fields: Automotive This is the field where I have accumulated the most experience. I have translated and reviewed plenty of website contents as well as brochures, press releases, e-learning courses for resellers, online magazines, operator manuals, repair manuals, recall campaigns, sub-titles for instruction videos, etc. While I work mainly with passenger cars and vans, I also have experience with related fields such as motorsport, construction equipment and tyres. IT/software Both cars and industrial machines are highly computerised which means that I have done many software related translations within these fields. Examples include graphical interfaces for in-car multimedia/navigation systems and diagnostic instruments as well as software used to control CNC systems. Software documentation is a field that I really enjoy working in, as I also have a genuine interest in learning the ins and outs of the software that I am using in my daily work. I plan to gradually make this my main working field. Being a Mac/iPhone/iPad user I am well acquainted with the Swedish versions of OS X and iOS, and I also have a rather extensive experience with translating material for these operating systems. Another field that I enjoy working in is IT-related marketing texts such as website contents and brochures for web based services. Mechanics I have translated many large installation, operation and maintenance manuals for industrial machines as well as consumer electronics and household appliances. Some of the larger projects that I have been working on include sorting machines, extruders, labelling machines, milling machines, pinspotters, electrosurgical generators, optical character recognition systems, air conditioners, centrifuges, kitchen appliances, audio and video equipment, wrist watches, etc. Other working fields I work on a regular basis with instructions for toys (RC cars and helicopters, trampolines, etc.). Cooking is a big passion of mine and I enjoy translating recipes. I have done a few quiz game projects as well, which was really fun. In-house software testing I occasionally go abroad to work on an in-house project where I test telecom software localised to Swedish on Windows as well as Android and iOS, reporting both linguistic and functional issues. CAT tools I have been working almost exclusively in memoQ since 2011 and consider myself an advanced user by now. It happens that I work in SDL Trados Studio 2019 as well when necessary.  I am well acquainted with regular expressions (.NET Framework flavour) and able to create custom import and segmentation rules, tag filters, etc. Team translations If you need a small translation team for a large project, or a translator-proofreader duo, I often collaborate with my colleagues Magnus Ågård and Joshua Pachner. We have developed a similar style and are able to keep the translations coherent through close collaboration. We can also bring in more collaborators for very large projects and share resources in real-time through memoQ Cloud Server. Security and confidentiality All documents are treated with strict confidentiality and are never distributed to third parties. Special precautions to protect sensitive data include: - Using the e-mail provider Runbox, a company that goes the extra mile to make sure all communication remains protected - Using LastPass https://lastpass.com/ to generate strong encrypted passwords to agencies’ online portals - Avoiding unsecure machine translation services such as Google Translate
